Aim For Fitness: We Made It to Moab!

Well we made it to Moab!  We got in around 5 and found a campsite right in town yet with the canyons all around I feel ‘away’ from the hubbub.  Sid and I were able to set up the tent, it is a tiny tent and I can’t even sit up in it without hunching my shoulders over and almost curling into a ball.  I didn’t want to bring the big bulky tent that you can stand in, I wanted something small and fast.  Well I got that but with a small inconvienence of not being able to sit comfortably. J

I was also very proud that Sidney and I  could put the tent up without grabbing the cell phone to call my husband and ask a quick question about if I was doing this correctly.  Being by myself with my daughter has given me a recharge of indepenedence I haven’t felt in years.  In my 20’s I wouldn’t have thought twice to set up a tent or had ANY apprehension of even going on a 1000 mile trip across country.  But that Thursday as I was packing, I was questioning my sanity.  Why am I doing this?   The only thing that was holding me back as I contemplated my decision to do this was FEAR.  The only thing and maybe also that my van has 205,000 miles on it and everyone was questioning me on that.  I think my dad has probably said 100 Hail Mary’s on my and Sid’s behalf.

So knowing that only fear was holding me back and I would regret my decision not to go, I continued packing.  The next morning at 6am I still was questioning myself and as I looked up the weather channel to check the direction I was heading, I discovered was leading right into a full blown North Dakota Winter Blizzard!  I still went!

We just headed south to North Platte Nebraska and stayed with Aunt Sheila and Uncle Don.  Sid and I both had a great time.  So with no more snow storms we headed out.  And we are now in Utah, heading to the Arches for a days hike and seeing some of God’s natural beauty and soaking it all in.

No fear here, just pure enjoyment of just Sid and I living moment to moment!

This is Sidney I AM HAVING A GREAT

TIME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We’re camping and today we are going to hike and maybe even rock climb and horse back riding. Ok bye.
