What Does it Take to Get a Little Work Life Balance Around Here?

If you’re anything like me, I’m sure you’ve asked yourself this question before! (if not in so many words!)
I have actually experienced work life balance in my own life – I’ve felt the reality of its wonderful, blissful peace wrap around me – but when you have four kids, a husband, and a business, it doesn’t seem to take much for that kind of peace to vanish just as quickly as it came!
Maintaining a sense of balance and harmony in your life is not so easy if you continually feel yourself reacting to the slightest distractions (you know, the types of things that seem to come along every day, all day long).
You may fall prey to the regular distractions of:
- E-mail (this is my biggest distraction when working in the office!)
- Phone calls
- TV
- The kids wants and desires
- And the list goes on…
There always seem to be numerous things there to pull you away from your hard won decision to find balance in your life and the actions that you try to take which will actually give you peace of mind and help lead you to a life of peace and joy.
As a Lifestyle Fitness Coach, what I have noticed the most among women trying to find work life balance is that the failure of achieving it is not from lack of trying, but from lack of direction.
How do you really start to LIVE this process of balance and harmony?
The hard part is putting in all of the effort and not seeing any fruition. Instead of a confident, strong woman with a glow like a beautiful jewel, the spirit becomes depleted and begins to show through, causing a lackluster look in many women as that depleted spirit begins to overcome the body.
The shine is gone. The bags under the eyes begin to appear along with the slouched shoulders, poor posture and the pounds that gradually pack on.
It is exactly this cycle of low energy leading to overwhelm and exhaustion that moves you into over consumption (self medicating with poor nutrient rich food to give body energy it needs), which ultimately leads to overweight.
Today, you can begin to move away from this and start moving towards your own personal glow!
Here are 3 steps to begin to get your shine back:
Step One:
You must begin to realize that YOU are worth taking the initiative for in order to begin living a better life for yourself. You need to find that zeal about what you are worth and start to take some time for yourself!
Dig deep and find that jewel within you – it’s time to start polishing it up.
Living a balanced lifestyle means that you put yourself on the priority list – and bring yourself all the way to the top.
It may surprise you, but putting yourself first in this way is not just something that is good for you alone! You will quickly see how it also benefits your family, your marriage, your work, your friendships, and many other facets of your life and your body.
Step Two:
Sit down and make a list of what your needs are. You have put so many of other people’s needs before your own – it is time for you to list what YOU need.
Now, don’t go and “nay nay†this – because it’s important! You are deciding which soft luxurious, pretty cloth you are going to use to begin the polishing so that you can feel that glow coming back.
It is the energy, the mental clarity, the emotional uplift and the peace.
Step Three:
Take action. You’ve taken the time for yourself, You’ve put the list of your needs together – now it’s time to act!
This is the drop of solution on the jewel that spreads throughout and gives it its glow, its purpose and its life giving energy.
Once you start taking action steps to meet your personal needs, you have started the process into living a more balanced, stable life.
Then, when the hic-ups do come (and they will!) you will be ready for them without falling into the downward spiral and dulling up your jewel again.
