This is my first ever Blog entry:
First of all I want to welcome all the new readers to Aim For It. I have been quiet for sometime, as my devoted readers have noticed. However today I am thrilled to unveil what I have been working on for quite some time….
My new BLOG!!!!
I will be writing weekly rather than monthly giving you tips, ideas, skills and also video. My intention is to inspire you and offer you little “golden nuggets” you can apply to your daily life. I have a strong commitment to myself to make this one of the most useful blogs I can offer to my devoted readers, therefore I have a strong commitment to bring you the very best.
So today I am writing on ‘how to get started even when you don’t want to but know you should’
Getting started is all about you making a decision to do something for yourself. How hard can that be? For most of us that ca be quite difficult, may take some planning and implementation, and support from family, work, friends or others before anything ever happens.
But I believe it doesn’t need to be this way. There doesn’t always need a lot of thinking, planning or setting this up to your perfection. It can be as small as doing 5 minutes of consistent activity 2-3 times per day. We all have 5 minutes, the is no question about that, the question is are you going to even start there.
If you think that it is to easy and not worth even trying…try to doing squats for a straight 5 minutes. I bet you will feel something and for a beginner you my even be out of breath and break a sweat.
If you did just this one thing consistently for 1 ½ months you would notice a difference, your legs would be stronger, firmer, your glutes as well and you would have less shortness of breath, do stairs easier, and feel good about yourself because you are doing something!
This is a start so if you trying to find 30-45 minutes in your day to get a workout in and it is preventing you from exercising completely, I suggest breaking it down and starting at these baby steps. Also if you do have a regular exercise regimen and life gets busy this is also a GREAT strategy to keep up with exercising until you get back into the swing of your regular exercise program.
Now the question is what are you going to do today and for this week?
Make a goal: I’ll do it with you this week. I will make a goal to do 2 five minutes squat workouts on Tuesday and Thursday of this week. Here is my plan: 90 seconds of squats, 45 second rest, 90 seconds of side lunges, 45 seconds rest; 90 seconds alternating squats.
Enjoy and let me know how your week is going by sharing your thoughts on this blog.
To your continued success,
Amy

Amy, your blog looks cool, I used to be very good with my fitness and also provided tips to people but now I am completely out of shape and don’t even exercise lol! I used to love exercising and squats really takes a heck out of you and for those who’re doing squats for the first time, please don’t hate it because for 2-3 days your legs will shiver. Now I avoid squats because of my weight as it would put extra pressure on my knee (I hope I am right?), I am planning to start cycling again so that I can lose some weight and get fit so I can start doing other exercises as well.
